Retroid announces clip-on screen for Pocket 5

Retroid have announced an attachable screen accessory, designed for the Pocket 5! This comes after days of hints, some of which were believed to indicate a dual-screen handheld. So far, it looks like the screen will come with a clip to attach to the RP5, also supporting the official grip. In addition, it will use USB-C, implying it will work with pretty much anything!

First usermod exploit, factory firmware and MiG Switch for Nintendo Switch 2 (5 minute read)

Popular hacker website Wololo.net reports on the first usermode exploit for the Nintendo Switch 2. Security researched David Buchanan, the man behind the NXLoader tool, discovered the exploit. Additionally, at least one Switch 2 appears to have shipped with factory firmware, and MiG Switch teased their flash cart working on Switch 2, which was quickly debunked by actual users.

ABXYlute announces Switch 2 accessories coming soon

Streaming handheld creators ABXYlute have announced a handful of accessories for the Switch 2 which are coming soon. The NS6 appears to be a slide-in controller (similar to the CRKD Nitro Deck) modelled on the ABXYlute One Pro handheld itself. The NS9 looks like a controller-shaped, lightweight slide-in controller, whereas the S6 looks to be a wireless iteration of the S9 telescopic controller, with a few changes other changes. The S6 in particular appears to be a universal controller, as it lacks the “NS” branding.

No Hall sticks for Switch 2 JoyCons (2 minute video)

iFixit have uploaded a disassembly video of the Nintendo Switch 2 Joycons, showing that they are not only very difficult to take apart, but that they utilise the same potentiometer-based analog sticks as the original Switch. It remains to be seen whether the Switch 2 will suffer the same stick drift problems as the original device.

Mario Kart World has 24-player LAN races

An X user has revealed that 24-player LAN races are accessible in Mario Kart World by holding the left and right shoulder buttons and clicking in the left stick on the main menu. This is a returning feature from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

New release: SakuraRetroModding MegaDrive skin for the Retroid Pocket Flip

Prominent mod maker SakuraRetroModding has released a beautiful adhesive skin mod for the Retroid Pocket Flip, styled after the Japanese MegaDrive. This is the lastest in a string of similar Flip 2 releases, including those styled after the PlayStation, SNES and GameCube.
