MagicX Zero 40 releases on June 28th, 2025
The tall-screened MagicX Zero 40 is due for release on June 28th, 2025, according to the official website. It will launch at 11 AM China time, which is 8 PM PDT and 11 PM EDT.
The handheld has a four-inch vertical display and an AllWinner Cortex-A53 chipset, along with 2GB RAM and a 4300 mAh battery. With its vertical display, it should offer a unique experience for DS, Arcade, and… well, not much else, I suppose. Vectrex?
ABXYlute’s PC handheld to be revealed soon
This news may have slipped under the radar for some people (it certainly did for me), but ABXYlute is set to reveal their first-ever PC handheld this month, which they call the Next Evolution of PC Handheld Gaming. With only a week left in the month, we could see a new competitor in the x86 handheld space very soon.
Final Fantasy XVI may be coming to Switch 2
EuroGamer reports that, according to the producer of Final Fantasy XVI, Naoki Yoshida, the game could be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the near future. The hit Final Fantasy VII Remake is already slated to hit the console soon.
Nintendo Switch 2 has severe screen ghosting problems
Despite being the fastest-selling console release of all time, the Nintendo Switch 2 launch has been rocky, to say the least. With the initial excitement fading, DigitalFoundry reports that the system suffers from severe ghosting issues. This report follows the same concerns raised by popular YouTuber Bob Wulff, among others.
Since everyone’s bringing up the Switch 2 ghosting again, here is an even slower-mo breakdown.
Even at 240fps you see dramatic ghosting between frames. The image freezes for JUST enough time for you to get a still image, before going right back to ghosting.
